SPIRITUAL WORKS

Rendering portraits is a large part of my work.  I love the softness that graphite lends to Portraiture as well as other Fine Art Works.  When I begin to work on a portrait, I spend hours studying photographs to get all of the tiny details I need in order to produce as close a likeness as possible to my subject.  I must see the individuals' personality ... not just black and white lines, circles and shadows.  Their spirit must come through in the finished rendering.  They must appear real - lifelike - to me, or the desire of my work has not been met.

It is rare that an individual commissions a portrait of him/herself.  Generally portraits are commissioned to present as a gift to someone.  Pet portraits seem to be a favorite followed by Family portraits for parents.  Contact me for your initial consultation regarding your original portrait or just drop some photo's in the mail to me with a note and we'll begin the process.

Special Training:   Primarily self-taught I checked out every book I could find on drawing from the Public Library and went to work practicing while studying the works of experienced artists and the Masters.  By attending the 1997 and 1998 American Society of Portrait Artists Annual Conventions I gained tremendous insight into Portraiture from Instructors Daniel Greene, Everett Raymond Kinstler, Tom Nash, and other notables in the field of Portraiture.  In the Spring of 1998 I had an opportunity to study for 8 weeks with the prominant Russian Pencil Artist, Andre Kohn, "Learning the Style of the Renaissance."

Selected Collections:  Yvonnes' commissioned portraits are displayed in homes and offices throughout America from Jupiter, Florida to Manhatten, NY to California and many states in between.  She considers every portrait she creates a notable ... as some of mankinds most prestigous individuals are not found in the lime light of public interest.
